Patterbars are very nutrient dense because we believe the kind of calories that you consume are more important than the number of calories that you consume.

A calorie is defined as the amount of energy your cells are able to extract from metabolizing the nutrients in the foods you eat. In order to properly support the human body’s functions, a healthy well-balanced diet is composed of calories derived from a proper proportion of fats, carbs, and protein.

At Patterbar we believe that combined whole foods are always the best source of fuel. We find that when we focus on nutritional value instead of calories, we make healthier choices.

A diet rich in whole foods including fruits, vegetables and whole grains contains naturally occurring nutrients that our bodies recognize as good, healthy forms of energy. Instead of evaluating nutritional value by asking ourselves how many calories a food contains, we find that the following questions help lead us to the kind of calories that we want to be consuming.

Is this food processed? Patterbars do not contain any processed ingredients. They are made up on real, whole foods only.
